There are four reasons for which your Chime debit card got declined even when you have money in your Spending Account. They are – 1) You reached your daily spending limit, 2) You are trying to make an international transaction but the feature is not enabled on your card, 3) Your Chime account is blocked, and 4) Chime is experiencing some issues.

      1) You Reached your daily spending limit:

The maximum you can spend on your Chime Debit Card in a day is $2,500. If you already have exhausted that limit then all other transactions you try to make will be declined by the bank right away.

      2) International Transaction feature is disabled:

Your Chime mobile banking app comes up with a feature that lets you enable or disable international transactions on your debit card. If this feature is turned off, the international purchase you are trying to make will get declined. If this is your case, open the app on your smartphone and turn the feature back on.

      3) Chime blocked your spending account:

If the above-mentioned two reasons doesn’t represent your issue, then the most probable thing that might have got happened is the Chime bank blocked your account for some reason. You can check whether your account is blocked or not by making a small transaction using your debit card or try to transfer money.

In this situation, the best thing you can do is contact the Chime customer service right away by calling them at 844-244-6363 or send them an email at support@chime.com asking them the reason for which they blocked your spending account.

      4) Chime is experiencing some technical issue:

If you are damn sure that your Chime account isn’t blocked, then there might be some issue on the bank’s end. Yes, sometimes, banks experience technical problems with which all the transactions including purchases (online & offline), money transfers, etc will fail.

In such a case, you can look if all other Chime members are experiencing the same by visiting the Status Archive page on Chime’s official website. In this page, Chime will update everything like the issues it is currently experiencing and the time it would take to resolve the issue. These are some reasons for which your Chime card get declined when you have enough money in your account.
