Hi, almost every state deposits the unemployment benefit either via bank deposit or debit card. The payment will be made either Biweekly or weekly and it highly depends on the state in which you live. For example, Alaska has a bi-weekly payment system whereas Alabama pays weekly.

      State-wise unemployment deposit dates:

      1. Alabama – Weekly
      2. Alaska – Bi-Weekly
      3. Arizona – Weekly
      4. Arkansas – Weekly
      5. California – Bi-Weekly
      6. Colorado – Bi-weekly
      7. Connecticut – Weekly
      8. Delaware – Weekly
      9. District of Columbia – Weekly
      10. Florida – Bi-Weekly
      11. Georgia – Weekly
      12. Hawaii – Weekly & Bi-Weekly (No Debit Card)
      13. Idaho – Weekly
      14. Illinois – Weekly
      15. Indiana – Weekly
      16. Iowa – Weekly
      17. Kansas – Weekly
      18. Kentucky – Bi-Weekly
      19. Louisiana – Weekly
      20. Maine – Weekly
      21. Maryland – Weekly
      22. Massachusetts – Weekly
      23. Michigan – Bi-Weekly
      24. Minnesota – Weekly
      25. Mississippi – Weekly
      26. Missouri – Weekly
      27. Montana – Weekly or Bi-Weekly

      28. Nebraska – Weekly
      29. Nevada – Weekly
      30. New Hampshire – Weekly
      31. New Jersey – Weekly
      32. New Mexico – Weekly
      33. New York – Weekly
      34. North Carolina – Weekly
      35. North Dakota – Weekly
      36. Ohio – Weekly
      37. Oklahoma – Weekly
      38. Oregon – Weekly
      39. Pennsylvania – Bi-Weekly
      40. Rhode Island – Weekly
      41. South Carolina – Weekly
      42. South Dakota – Weekly
      43. Tennessee – Weekly
      44. Texas – Weekly
      45. Utah – Weekly
      46. Vermont – Weekly
      47. Virginia – Weekly
      48. Washington – Weekly
      49. West Virginia – Weekly
      50. Wisconsin – Weekly
      51. Wyoming – Weekly

Remember that every state has its own rules regarding the unemployment deposits on the day at which the payment should be released after a claim has been filed. For example, if you file a bi-weekly claim in California, the certification will be verified within 24 hours and the amount will be deposited in your bank account. At the same time, if a claim has been filed in the state of Florida, the payment will be released after completion of the verification process.

To get your unemployment benefits (money) by direct deposit, you need to wait for at least a week. This is the usual processing time and it should be done within five to seven days. Also, you should note that the first week of your unemployment is called “Waiting Week” and you will not get paid for that week as per the guidelines in the Social Security Act.

And also, if you just filed a claim for Unemployment benefits, you need to remember that it takes more than two weeks of time for the process to be completed as a whole. After your claim is verified, the money will be deposited in your savings account or you will receive a check.

As per the Act, you will be eligible to get the compensation for up to 26 weeks after you get unemployed. Some states have separate laws where unemployed persons will not get paid for the first week. You need to check whether if the state that you are living in falls under that category. If so, you need to wait for the second week to come to file a claim and then wait for another two weeks for verification.

Note: The process will be completed fast if you file an Unemployment Insurance claim Online. You can file a claim online from 7: 30 AM to 12 AM (Monday to Friday). The online portal will be open for claims full day on Saturdays and Sundays.

When does unemployment deposit money in NY?

      A. In New York, your unemployment benefits will be directly deposited into your bank checking account on a weekly basis. However, you can also claim for biweekly payments if you wish. The Department Of Labor will process your request every week and the money will be deposited in your savings account three days after the process.

If you are waiting for your first insurance payment, then wait for at least three weeks as the Department Of Labor will take almost three to four weeks of time to verify your claim.

Also, you can easily check the status of your weekly benefit by logging into your account on applications.labor.ny.gov. This way you can check whether your payment was released or not. If you see that a weekly payment was already released, then it should take not more than 3 days to appear in your bank account.

Your unemployment benefits will be directly deposited by wire transfer and the money will appear in your bank account within 48 hours in most cases but it may take up to a week or two weeks in some rare cases. However, it highly depends on the approval of your unemployment benefits application.

So, if you file an application to claim your unemployment money, the authorities will look into your application thoroughly and issue the payment once verified. So, the only thing that matters here is the verification process. If your application is good and great without any errors, it will be verified within a couple of days and the payment will appear in your bank account in a few days.
