What is the Difference Between Love and Obsession?

The line between love and obsession seems blurred, because of the intense enthusiasm and emotional devotion to the issue. Obsession is a vital component of both, but when carried to extremes, it may become an unhealthy and dangerous expression of love, regardless of the type of relationship, whether platonic or romantic.

To comprehend obsession and love, one must first understand what love is. Let’s imagine you have a child who likes sweets and chocolate, and you constantly feed them chocolate instead of protein and other foods. What is going to happen? Your child has a lot of physical issues, such as a toothache.

Is this love, then? Absolutely not, in terms of meeting the desires of loved ones. Giving them the most important thing is true love; giving them everything they need to become better humans is true love.

So if your love becomes an obsession so it’s better to take couples counseling West Palm Beach. That not only helps to overcome mental stress but also improves the relations between you and your partner. Love is a healthy feeling that grows between two people when they invest time and energy to really get to know each other, flaws, pet peeves, and all.
