Two pipes A and B can fill a cistern in 25 minutes and 30 minutes respectively. Both are opened together but at the end of 10 minutes B is turned off. How much longer will cistern take to fill.

      Correct Answer: 16 2/3minutes

      In one minute, A and B can fill = 1/25+1/30=6+5/150=11/150 part

      In 10 minutes, A and B can fill = 11/150×1/10=11/15 part

      Remaining part = 1−11/15=4/15 part

      4/15 part is to be filled by A

      In one minute A can fill 1/25 part

      4/15 part can be filled in minutes 4/15×25=20/3=6 2/3minutes

      Total time taken to fill the tank 10+6 2/3=16 2/3minutes
