The Kempegowda festival was organized in Delhi, the capital city of India. It was inaugurated by the then president Pranab Mukherjee. The event was organized by Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Foundation.
Who is Kempe Gowda?
Kempe Gowda, who is also generally referred to as Nadaprabhu Hiriya Kempe Gowda, was a popular leader (chieftain) during the Vijayanagara era. He is the one who designed the Bangalore Fort and was known as the founder of Bangalore. He laid the foundation of that city in 1537.
