A Clock is a circle that is divided into 60 minute spaces. The minute hand in a clock takes 60 minutes in order to cover these minute spaces whereas the hour hand takes 12 hours to go through all these.
For every hour or 60 minutes, the hour hand of a clock completes 5 minute spaces. At the same time, the minute hand completes one full rotation round the clock passing through all 60 minute spaces. So, the minute hand gains 55 minutes over the hour hand in a time period of 1 hour.

Explanation: Angle traced by hour hand in 12 hrs. = 360º. Angle traced by it in 11/3 hrs= (360/12*11/3)∘=110∘ Angle traced by minute hand in 60 min. = 360º. Angle traced by it in 40 min. =(360/60*40)°=240° Required angle (240 - 110)º = 130º.
Explanation:
Angle traced by hour hand in 12 hrs. = 360º.
Angle traced by it in 11/3 hrs= (360/12*11/3)∘=110∘
Angle traced by minute hand in 60 min. = 360º.
Angle traced by it in 40 min. =(360/60*40)°=240°
Required angle (240 – 110)º = 130º.

Explanation: Since at 4 : 20 the minute hand will be at 4 and the angle between them will be same as the distance covered in degree by the hour hand in 20 minutes. Required angle = distance of hour hand = speed × time = 1/2 × 20 =10 degrees.

Explanation: The hands of a clock point in opposite directions (in the same straight line) 11 times in every 12 hours. (Because between 5 and 7 they point in opposite directions at 6 o'clcok only). So, in a day, the hands point in the opposite directions 22 times.

FORMULA
A = 30H – (11/2)M
In this formula, A is the required angle; H is the initial position of the Hour Hand; M is the minutes. Now, substitute the given values –
A = 30 x 4 – (11/2) x 15
A = 120 – 165/2
A = (240 – 165)/2
A = 75/2
A = 37.5 degrees.
The angle between the minute hand and the hour hand of a clock when the time is 4:15 is 37.5 degrees.

FORMULA
Required Angle, A = 30H – (11/2)M
Here,
H is the initial position of the Hour Hand
M is the minutes
A = 30 x 4 – (11/2) x 20
A = 120 – 110
A = 10
Hence, the angle between the minute hand and the hour hand of a clock when the time is 4 hours 20 minutes is 10 degrees.

As the clock ticks 6 times at 6 o’clock in 30 seconds, the number of intervals involved = time taken/times = 30/6 = 5 intervals.
If it ticks 6 times at 6 o’clock, then the clock ticks 12 times at 12 o’clock. Then, the number of intervals involved are 11.
5 intervals are covered in 30 seconds. So, 1 interval = 30/5 = 6 seconds.
Hence, 11 intervals = 11 x 6 = 66 seconds.
