The white fur of a polar bear acts as camouflage in order to get mixed up with the environment it lives in. The actual skin color of a polar bear is black and we do not get to see it as the body will be covered with white fur. The main advantage a polar bear gets by being white is it makes it hard for its prey and other animals to recognize in the snowy arctic climate.

And also, most importantly, a polar bear’s coat will have no white pigment. The animal’s body is always covered with a thick layer of black skin that protects it from the dangerously cold conditions that prevail in the arctic.

Hippos are not amphibians. Just because they can live both on land and water doesn’t make them amphibians. Hippopotamuses just stay in water for the purpose of keeping their bodies cool and they later come onto land in order to feed.

On the other hand, amphibians are animals that undergo an aquatic gill-breathing larval stage followed (typically) by a terrestrial lung-breathing adult stage. So, it is now clear that hippopotamuses are not amphibians. Instead, they belong to the Mammalia class of the Animalia kingdom.

In one word, Hippos are Mammals.

Venus flytraps are carnivorous plants that feed on insects which get trapped in their unique leaf like structures.

When you put your finger in these traps, the plant will think of it as some insect and uses its energy to take hold of your finger.

However, these traps cannot harm your finger nor will they have any affect on your body. The only thing that happens is – the flytrap plant will end up losing its energy. Gaining their energy back is really hard for them. So, do not play with those plants just for fun.
